Lew Riggs (full name: Lewis Sidney Riggs; no nicknames) played third baseman from 1934 until 1946 for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds and Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Cardinals in 1934, Reds from 1935 - 1940 and Dodgers from 1941 - 1946. Over 10 seasons, he played 760 games, hit 28 home runs, drove in 298 runs, and stole 22 bases. Born on April 22, 1910 in Mebane, NC (All Transactions), Riggs stood 6' 0" and weighed 175 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 28, 1934 and he played his final game on April 16, 1946. Common misspellings of his name include Lewis Lew lou Sidney Riggs.
