Lew Fonseca (full name: Lewis Albert Fonseca; no nicknames) played first baseman, second baseman and leftfielder from 1929 until 1932 for the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox. He played for the Indians from 1929 - 1931 and White Sox from 1931 - 1932. Over 12 seasons, he played 937 games, hit 31 home runs, drove in 518 runs, and stole 64 bases. Born on January 21, 1899 in Oakland, CA, Fonseca stood 5' 10" and weighed 180 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 13, 1921 and he played his final game on September 11, 1933.
