Leo Reise was a former National Hockey League player who was born on June 1, 1892 as Leopold A. Emile Reise, Sr. He started his National Hockey League career with the Hamilton Tigers. According to reviews, he was one of the greatest left shooters in the history of the league. After his stint with the Hamilton Tigers, he played for the New York Americans where he showcased great potential for the national league. He also became part of the New York Rangers.

 

Aside from the mentioned teams, he also played professionally for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings. Reviews say he had his best seasons with the Red Wings with which he had two Stanley Cups championships. Although one of his eyes lost its sight while he was still young, he still pursued his hockey career and was successful in it. He was named to the second All-Star Team in the 1918 and the 1921 seasons and also in the first All-Star team in 1920. He ended his professional hockey career in the NHL in 1932.

 

Reise passed awsy on July 8, 1975 but his contributions in the NHL were never forgotten. His son, Leo Reise, Jr. is also a National Hockey League athlete.

Leo Reise (full name: Leo Reise; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1951 until 1954 for the Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers. He played for the Red Wings from 1951 - 1952 and Rangers from 1953 - 1954. Over 9 seasons, he played 494 games, scored 28 goals, and made 81 assists. Born in Stoney Creek, Ontario on June 7, 1922, Reise stands 6-0 and weighs 205 lbs.
