Lefty Sunkel (full name: Thomas Jacob Sunkel; Tom) played pitcher from 1937 until 1944 for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Cardinals from 1937 - 1939, Giants from 1941 - 1943 and Dodgers in 1944. Over 6 seasons, he started 29 games, won 9 games, struck out 112 batters, and had a 4.53 ERA. Born on August 9, 1912 in Paris, IL, Sunkel stood 6' 1" and weighed 190 lb. He attended Paris (Paris, IL) (All Transactions) high school.
