Larry Melnyk (full name: Larry Melnyk; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1981 until 1990 for the Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks. He played for the Bruins from 1981 - 1983, Oilers from 1984 - 1986, Rangers from 1986 - 1988 and Canucks from 1988 - 1990. Over 9 seasons, he played 432 games, scored 11 goals, and made 63 assists. Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on February 21, 1960, Melnyk stands 6-0 and weighs 195 lbs. He was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 4th round (78th overall) of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft.
