Larry Jansen (full name: Lawrence Joseph Jansen; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1947 until 1956 for the New York Giants and Cincinnati Redlegs. He played for the Giants from 1947 - 1954 and Redlegs in 1956. Over 9 seasons, he started 237 games, won 122 games, struck out 842 batters, and had a 3.58 ERA. Born on July 16, 1920 in Verboort, OR, Jansen stood 6' 2" and weighed 190 lb. He attended Forest Grove (Forest Grove, WA) high school.
