Larry Foote is a NFL linebacker who is currently playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Prior to pursuing a professional career in football, he played college football for the University of Michigan. He became an All-Big Ten Conference first team choice during his junior year. During his senior year, Foote was awarded the Roger Zatkoff Award and the All-Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
During the 2002 NFL Draft, Foote was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers. During his first season in the NFL, he was able to take part in 14 games and was able to make 20 tackles. In the 2004 season, Foote was able to make 69 tackles, 3 sacks and his first interception. However, it was in 2006 when Foote would be able to show his athletic prowess by posting 102 tackles after 16 games.
Foote became very helpful in the Steelers’ Super Bowl XL and Super Bowl XLIII wins. The linebacker asked to be released by the Steelers in 2009 and opted to sign a deal with the Detroit Lions. He only stayed a season with the Lions after which he decided to sign a contract that would bring him back to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
