LaPhonso Ellis (full name: LaPhonso Darnell Ellis; no nicknames) played Forward from 1993 until 2003 for the Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat. Over 11 seasons, he played 624 games, scored 7410 points (11.9 ppg) and grabbed 4032 rebounds (6.5 rpg). Ellis also dished out 981 assists (1.6 apg), made 433 steals (0.7 spg), and blocked 477 shots (0.8 bpg) during his career. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois on May 5, 1970, Ellis stands 6-8 and weighs 240 lbs. He attended high school at Lincoln in East Saint Louis, Illinois and college at University of Notre Dame. He was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the 1st round (5th pick, 5th overall) of the 1992 NBA draft.
