L.C. Greenwood is a retired defensive end in the National Football League. He was born in Canton, Mississippi and played for the Pittsburgh Stealers from 1969 to 1981. He attended the Arkansas AM&N and was part of the Ebony All-American in 1968. He decided to turn professional after he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 10th round of the 1969 NFL Draft. He was the 238th overall pick.
During his first and second seasons, he had a rather limited game time. It was in 1973 when he would be able to really impress the people in the football community. He was with the Steelers during the Super Bowl IX, X, XIII and XIV. Throughout his entire run with the Steelers, Greenwood was able to win the Super Bowl for times.
He was also named into the six Pro Bowl selections starting from 1973 to 1976, 1978 and again in 1979. Greenwood also made it to two All-Pro selections, in 1974 to 1975. He was also selected into All-Conference selections, from 1973 to 1976, 1978 and 1979. He was named into the NFL 1970’s All-Decade Team. He was selected to be part of the Super Bowl Silver Anniversary Team in 1991 and in the Steelers All-Time Team in 2007.
