Kirby Higbe (full name: Walter Kirby Higbe; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1937 until 1950 for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Giants. He played for the Cubs from 1937 - 1939, Phillies from 1939 - 1940, Dodgers from 1941 - 1947, Pirates from 1947 - 1949 and Giants from 1949 - 1950. Over 12 seasons, he started 238 games, won 118 games, struck out 971 batters, and had a 3.69 ERA. Born on April 8, 1915 in Columbia, SC (All Transactions), Higbe stood 5' 11" and weighed 190 lb.
