About Kevin Whelan Memorabilia & Collectibles
Kevin Whelan is a former American professional baseball player. He was born on January 8, 1984 in Kerrville, Texas and took his college education when he attended the Texas A&M University where he also played in college baseball. He batted and threw with his right and began his pro baseball career in the Major League Baseball after he was originally drafted during the 2005 MLB Amateur Draft by the Detroit Tigers where he was a fourth round pick of the team.
A season following the draft, Whelan was not immediately able to make his debut in the in the major league, instead he made some stints in the minor league with the Detroit’s affiliates during his rookie season where he split his time playing for two teams, Oneonta and West Michigan.
The following season, Whelan played for the whole 2007 with the New York Yankees' minor league affiliate, Lakeland Tigers of the Florida State League. During the 2007 and 1008 seasons, Whelan once again split his time to play for two teams, this time with the Tampa Yankees and the Trenton Thunders. In 2009 seasons, Whelan still split the season to play for two teams but this time with Trenton and the Scranton Yankees.
