He played for the Mets from 1986 - 1992, Yankees from 1994 - 1995, Phillies in 1995, Rangers from 1996 - 1998, Pirates in 1997 and Dodgers in 2000. Over 13 seasons, he played 940 games, hit 88 home runs, drove in 332 runs, and stole 14 bases. Born on August 3, 1964 in San Pedro, CA, Elster stands 6' 2" and weighs 180 lb. He attended high school and was drafted by the New York Mets in the 2nd round of the 1984 amateur draft (January). Player signed May 21, 1984.
