Retired Major League Baseball shortstop, Kevin Elster was born on August 3, 1964 in San Pedro, California. He is also one of the casts in the movie Little Big League and had his debut on September 2, 1986 in the Major League Baseball.
During his career, he was able to play for six different ball clubs starting from the New York Mets in 1986 – 1992, the New York Yankees in 1994 – 1995, Philadelphia Phillies in 1995, Texas Rangers in 1996 and 1998, the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1997 and lastly with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2000. On January 17, 1984, he was selected by the New York Mets organization on the second round of free agent draft. And on January 17, 1984, he signed as a free agent with Los Angles Dodgers. The games he played by position were shortstop 19, Shortstop 3, shortstop 148, shortstop 150, shortstop 92, shortstop 107, and shortstop 5.
Elster’s batting order position in games in which he was in the starting lineup. He had a total of 38 games; 6th in one game; 7th in 66 games, 8th in 357 games starting from 1986 to 1992. His name became controversial during the 1996 season because of the speculation on alleged used of steroid wherein he hit for a .252 average with 24 homers and 99 RBIs. He had his final game on October 1, 2000.
