One of the retired American professional basketballs players of the NBA is Kevin Durell Edwards. He was selected by the Miami Heat with the 20th overall pick of the 1988 NBA Draft. He was the 2nd player ever from a draft pick in Miami Heat history, following teammate Rony Seikaly who was the 9th pick in the draft.
Edwards played in 11 NBA seasons for the Heat, New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic and Vancouver Girzzlies. The best of his playing career as a pro came during the 1993-94 season with the Nets, without missing any of the 82 games and averaging 14.0 points per game. Edwards announced his retirement as a member of the Grizzlies in 2001, the same year when the team drafted All-Star player Pau Gasol. Gasol is still in the current roster together with fellow high point players like Steven Hunter and OJ Mayo.

About Kevin Edwards: Kevin Edwards (full name: Kevin Durell Edwards; no nicknames) played Guard from 1989 until 2001 for the Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic and Vancouver Grizzlies. Over 11 seasons, he played 604 games, scored 6596 points (10.9 ppg) and grabbed 1653 rebounds (2.7 rpg). Edwards also dished out 1609 assists (2.7 apg), made 825 steals (1.4 spg), and blocked 197 shots (0.3 bpg) during his career. Born in Cleveland Heights, Ohio on October 30, 1965, Edwards stands 6-3 and weighs 190 lbs. He attended high school at St. Joseph in Cleveland, Ohio and college at DePaul University.
