He played for the Royals from 1989 - 2004, Athletics from 1999 - 2000, Mets in 2001 and Angels from 2002 - 2003. Over 16 seasons, he started 402 games, won 169 games, struck out 1994 batters, and had a 3.74 ERA. Born on December 6, 1967 in Lancaster, CA, Appier stands 6' 2" and weighs 180 lb. He attended Antelope Valley (Lancaster, CA) high school and was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 1st round (9th pick) of the 1987 amateur draft.
