About Ken Wright Memorabilia & Collectibles
Ken Wright is a former American pro baseball player who pitched for the Kansas City Royals and the New York Yankees in the Major League Baseball. He was born in Pensacola, Florida and batted and threw right handed. Wright’s pro baseball career after he was originally signed as amateur free agent by the Boston Red Sox before the 1964 seasons.
However, Wright was not able to make his major league debut with the Red Sox and instead, he made a few stints in the Red Sox’s minor league affiliates. Wright played for the Wellsville in his rookie season in 1964 before joining the Winston-Salem the following year in 1965 and played for also a single season. The following year, Wright joined the Pittsfield where he played until the end of the end of the 1969 seasons.
By the end of that season, Wright was then drafted by the Kansas City Royals from the Red Sox during the 1969 Rule 5 Five Draft and made his major league debut for the Royals on April 10, 1970. After spending four years with the Royals, Wright was dealt to the New York Yankees on December 7, 1973 and had his final game on April 28, 1974.
