Ken Henderson is a former professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball. Born in Carroll, Iowa, Henderson occupied the outfielder position while playing in the league and was a switch hitter although he threw using his right hand. Henderson’s professional baseball career started after he was selected by the San Francisco Giants in 1964 as an amateur free agent. After playing an entire season in the minors, Henderson was called up to the Giants roster. Henderson was an integral part of the Giants team that went on to pick up the 1971 NL West win.
Henderson played for the Giants for a total of eight seasons before being traded to the Chicago White Sox in 1972 and was later traded by the White Sox to the Atlanta Braves in 1975. After playing for the Texas Rangers and the New York Mets, Henderson played for the Cincinnati Reds where he helped the team clinch their 1979 NL West win.
While playing for the White Sox, Henderson was able to finish 19th in the voting for the American League Most Valuable Player voting. Henderson was purchased by the Cincinnati Reds by the Chicago Cubs during the 1979 season. Henderson announced his retirement in 1980.

He played for the Giants from 1965 - 1972, White Sox from 1973 - 1975, Braves in 1976, Rangers in 1977, Mets in 1978, Reds from 1978 - 1979 and Cubs from 1979 - 1980. Over 16 seasons, he played 1444 games, hit 122 home runs, drove in 595 runs, and stole 86 bases. Born on June 15, 1946 in Carroll, IA, Henderson stands 6' 2" and weighs 180 lb.
