George Kenneth “Ken” Griffey Jr. debuted his baseball career as a centerfield for the Seattle Mariners on April 3, 1989. His father was also a baseball player for the Cincinnati Reds just like him. The father and son got to play in the baseball field at the same time with the same team. The tandem has a back-to-back hit for home runs. They have played together in 51 games before the father soon retired. After deciding to move to Cincinnati, he signed a nine year deal with the Cincinnati Reds in 2000. It was in the 2000 season that the stars of Ken started to decline. He suffered a series of injuries which led to the decrease in batting speed. When his nine years of tenure with the Cincinnati Reds ended, he was swapped to the Chicago White Sox. But then returned to the Seattle Mariners as a free agent in 2009. He was last seen on the baseball field on May 31, 2010. Weeks after he announced his retirement from the Major League Baseball to take effect immediately.
