Junior Seau is currently playing for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He was born in San Diego, California on January 19, 1969.
He had studied at Oceanside High School where he was a letterman in football, basketball, and track and field. Seau pursued his studies at the University of Southern California. He was chosen by Bobby Beathard’s Chargers during the first round of the 1990 National Football League as the team’s fifth overall pick. Seau then became a famous player of the team and was nicknamed “Tasmanian Devil.” He was able to play in 12 Pro Bowls with the Chargers. It was in 1991 when he made the Seau Foundation that raises money for drug awareness, child abuse prevention, and college scholarships. Seau was traded to the Miami Dolphins on April 2003. He was then released by the Dolphins on March 6, 2006 due to some injuries.
He was able to accomplish 1,566 tackles, 1,239 solo, 327 assists, 52 sacks, 76 pass deflections, 15 blazing interceptions, 210 interception return yards, 12 fumbles, 17 powerful fumble recoveries, 66 return yards, and one blazing touchdown in his entire career. It was on August 14, 2006 when he retired from his playing career. Seau then decided to sign a one-year contract with New England.
