Juan Pena is a professional soccer player and is playing for the D.C. United. The team is in the Major League Soccer. Pena, who is a Bolivian by nationality, is a central defender. Pena started out by playing in the Independiente Santa Fe in Columbia and his country’s very own Club Blooming. In 1995, Pena decided to go to Spain and as a defensive player for in the Real Villadolid. In 2006, Pena decided to move to Celta de Vigo. In 2009, Pena signed with the D.C. United after careful thought and consideration. Pena had hesitations especially due to his age.
Pena started to play for the Bolivia national team in 1991 when he was just 18 years old. Pena is one of the best players of the team and was named as team captain. Pena was with the team when it led Argentina to a crushing defeat during the 2010 World Cup qualifiers in La Paz.
Pena was with the Bolivian team during the 1991 Copa America, the 1993 Copa America, the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the 1995 Copa America, the 1997 Copa America where the team became the runners-up, the 1999 Copa America, the 1999 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2007 Copa America.
