Jorge Posada was born as Jorge Rafael Posada Villeta on August 17, 1971. He is a professional baseball player who is currently part of the New York Yankees team. He had his high school education at Alejandrino High School where he became basketball and track varsity athlete and also played baseball and volleyball. He played as a shortstop for the said high school. After his high school career, he went on to have his college baseball experience at Calhoun Community College where he also finished his college education. Because of his great contribution to the university, he was placed in the Athletic Hall of Fame of the Alabama Community College. He started his professional career as a minor league player. He was selected by the New York Yankees as a 24th round pick in the Major League Baseball draft of 1990. After his minor league career, he played in the World Series championship for four times, the first in 1998 and then followed in 1999, 2000 and 2009. He was also part of American League teams in the championship series for six times. He also bagged five Silver Slugger Awards. His Major League Baseball debut was in 1995. After his successful debut, he went on to have a very remarkable major league career, making records and receiving numerous recognitions. As of July 6, 2010, he made .277 batting average and achieved 252 home runs. He also made 992 runs batted in and recorded .859 on-base-plus slugging.
