After playing for the Raiders in the National Football League, Ritchie then played for the Philadelphia Eagles leading to the recognition of Jon Ritchie signed Super Bowl XXXVII mini helmet. During the off-season after his second Super Bowl appearance, Ritchie was cut by the Eagles after an upsetting knee injury that was unfortunately cannot be repaired.
He then retired from the National Football League in 2006. He is currently an announcer for the National Football League Europe games. Ritchie also helps coaching the varsity football team of Cumberland Valley High School where he graduated.
