Born in Cartagena, Columbia, Jolbert Alexis Cabrera is an infielder and outfielder of Major League Baseball’s New York Mets. He played in the Pacific League of Japan under the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks for 2 years. His brother Orlando Cabrera is also a baseball shortstop for the Cincinnati Reds. Cabrera spent his high school years with Confenalco High School in Columbia. His father helped Edgar Renteria to the Florida Marlins. The Montreal Expos signed him as a free agent on the 3rd of Jne 1990. Recognized as a versatile player, Jolbert Cabrera made his MLB debut with the Cleveland Indians on the 12th of April 1998 as a free agent. It is the only game that he had played for the season. He then went with the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Lance Carracioli. He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals’ minor league in the 2006-07 offseason. He then signed with the Colorado Rockies’ minor league after being released by the Cardinals. Jolbert Cabrera has also played for the Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds and the Baltimore Orioles. On the 4th of February 2010 he signed with the New York Mets as a free agent.
