Johnny Newman (full name: John Sylvester Newman Jr.; Johnny, J. New) played Forward-Guard from 1987 until 2002 for the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knickerbockers, Charlotte Hornets, New Jersey Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks. Over 16 seasons, he played 1159 games, scored 12740 points (11.0 ppg) and grabbed 2536 rebounds (2.2 rpg). Newman also dished out 1688 assists (1.5 apg), made 1064 steals (0.9 spg), and blocked 246 shots (0.2 bpg) during his career. Born in Danville, Virginia on November 28, 1963, Newman stands 6-7 and weighs 190 lbs. He attended high school at George Washington in Danville, Virginia and college at University of Richmond. He was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2nd round (5th pick, 29th overall) of the 1986 NBA draft.
