Johnny Lindell (full name: John Harlan Lindell; no nicknames) played outfielder and pitcher from 1941 until 1954 for the New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the Yankees from 1941 - 1950, Cardinals in 1950, Pirates in 1953 and Phillies from 1953 - 1954. Over 12 seasons, he played 854 games, hit 72 home runs, drove in 401 runs, and stole 17 bases. Born on August 30, 1916 in Greeley, CO, Lindell stood 6' 4" and weighed 217 lb. He attended Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte (Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte, CA) high school. His debut was on April 18, 1941 and he played his final game on May 9, 1954.
