Johnny Gorsica (full name: John Joseph Perry Gorsica; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1940 until 1947 for the Detroit Tigers. He played for the Tigers from 1940 - 1947. Over 7 seasons, he started 64 games, won 31 games, struck out 272 batters, and had a 4.18 ERA. Born on March 29, 1915 in Bayonne, NJ, Gorsica stood 6' 2" and weighed 180 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 22, 1940 and he played his final game on September 17, 1947.
