About John Tonelli Memorabilia & CollectiblesA center player in the National Hockey League, John Tonelli was born in Hamilton, Ontario on March 23, 1957. Among the teams he had played with during his career time were the New York Islanders, Calgary Flames, as well as the Los Angeles Kings. He had been established as one of the most promising players in the history of hockey league.
He was best remembered as the player with great courage and perseverance in giving his team with sweet victories in every game they played. In the years 1982 and 1985, he was elected as the newest member of the All-Star Left Wing. He was as well honored by his team as the one who had contributed much on the four winnings they had during the championship periods in the Stanley Cup. He was also nicknamed by his other teammates as “The Greasy Jet”.
Tonelli was considered as one of the hockey league’s pride. Among his many achievements as a player include being named into the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League History First All-Star Team and titled as the Most Valuable Player during the Canada Cup tournament in the year 1984. John Tonelli decided to end his career subsequent to his playing career with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Quebec Nordiques. He was also able to set a record of 325 goals, as well as 511 assists.
