John Robert Isner is a professional tennis athlete who emerged from University of Georgia where he led in number of singles and doubles victory. He started playing professionally in 2007 when he was only ranked 839th worldwide and tried wild card entries to reach the main draws of any tournament. His first won tournament was the USA F14 Futures in which he won over the top three seeds along the way. In his first US Open, he defeated Jarkko Nieminen, Rik de Voest and Roger Federer. He moved up to the 144th rank after his successful US Open debut.

One of his most remarkable matches is the 2010 Wimbledon Singles Championships against Nicolas Mahut which lasted for eleven hours and five minutes. He won in the said match with 70 points against Mahut’s 68. Isner also set the record for the highest number of games won in the Wimbledon match with 92 wins.
