About John Henderson Memorabilia & Collectibles
Also known as Big John, John Henderson is a professional defensive tackle in the National Football League. Henderson is currently playing for the Oakland Raiders. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Henderson was a first round pick during the 2002 NFL Draft.
A true Tennessean, Henderson went to Pearl-Cohn High School in Nashville and was a star in his high school varsity football team. Henderson was able to play defensive tackle and tight end during his high school days. After leading his high school football team to two consecutive state championships during his last two years in Pearl-Cohn, Henderson was named as an All-State and was seventh in The Sporting News list of top 100 high school players.
Henderson decided to attend the University of Tennessee and was the Volunteers’ left defensive tackle. Henderson helped the varsity team during the 1999 Fiesta Bowl as well as the 2000 Cotton Bowl Classic and the 2001 Citrus Bowl. Big John was selected to be the recipient of the Outland Trophy for his efforts as a lineman aside from being named an All-American.
Straight out of college, Henderson was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars and played for the team until he signed with the Raiders in 2010. Henderson has played in two Pro Bowls—in the 2004 and 2006.
