He played for the Pirates from 1975 - 1993, Angels from 1985 - 1987, Mets in 1987, Yankees from 1988 - 1989, Expos in 1989, Twins in 1990, Jays in 1990 and Dodgers from 1991 - 1992. Over 19 seasons, he started 356 games, won 177 games, struck out 1673 batters, and had a 3.33 ERA. Born on November 6, 1953 in New York, NY, Candelaria stands 6' 7" and weighs 205 lb. He attended LaSalle Academy (New York, NY) high school and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2nd round of the 1972 amateur draft.
