One of the up and coming basketball stars is Joey Graham. Currently in the active roster of the Denver Nuggets, Graham was born in Wilmington, Delaware. In 2002, Graham decided to enter the University of Central Florida where he played college basketball. However, he transferred to Oklahoma State University in 2003. It wasn’t until in 2004 when he resumed playing basketball. He was able to excel during his last year in Oklahoma.
Graham entered the 2005 NBA draft and was picked by the Toronto Raptors during the first round. Graham became the 16th overall pick for the 2005 draft. Graham was a shooting guard and small forward for Toronto. Graham was placed in the starting lineup during his first few days of playing in the NBA. As a shooting guard, he was able to make 6.5 ppg average.
During the 2008 season, Graham made an average of 7.7 ppg which is also a current career high. He made it to the playoffs during the2006 and 2007 season with the Raptors. He signed with the Denver Nuggets in 2009 for one year. With the Nuggets, Graham was able to come up with 6.0 ppg during the playoffs.
Graham is the identical twin of Charlotte Bobcats’ Stephen Graham.
