About Joel Przybilla Memorabilia & Collectibles

Joel Przybilla, nicknamed “The Thrilla,” is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. Przybilla hails from Monticello, Minnesota. He currently plays for the Portland Trail Blazers in the National Basketball Association. Przybilla went to college in the University of Minnesota; he played for two seasons in the said university. Though, Przybilla left Minnesota at some point in the middle of his sophomore season.

Przybilla began his professional career in the National Basketball Association when he was drafted by the Houston Rockets in the 200 NBA Draft. However, he was dealt the same day to the Milwaukee Bucks for their first round pick, Jason Collier and a future first round pick. After playing for the Bucks for about 3 seasons, on February 15, 2004, he was then dealt to the Atlanta Hawks in a three team trade. Upon free agency, the Suns and Raptors showed interest but Trail Blazers was the only team offering assured cash and Przybilla signed for a reported $3.35 million over two years on August 24, 2004, one sports review said. Przybilla made an instant impact with the Trailblazers having an average of 2.1 blocks and 7.7 rebounds per game in that 2004–2005 NBA seasons. Przybilla became a free agent for a second time at the last part of the 2005–2006 seasons. After being pursued by a number of teams, he decided to re-sign with the Blazers; the contract is reportedly for 5 years and US $32 million, according to sources. Amongst his pursuers were the Chicago Bulls, and the Detroit Pistons, seeking to substitute the leaving Ben Wallace. On the 22nd of March 2008, Przybilla pulled a career high of 25 rebounds, two shy of the franchise record overall and one shy of franchise record in a regulation game. According to sources, On January 2, 2009, Przybilla was fined $7,500 and assessed a flagrant foul for striking Tyson Chandler.

In a match against the Dallas Mavericks on December 22, 2009, he suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in addition to a dislocated patella after landing awkwardly on his right knee during a rebound. And according to one sports review, it was reported on March 7, 2010 that Przybila re-injured his right knee while slipping in the shower.
