Joe Nuxhall (full name: Joseph Henry Nuxhall; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1944 until 1966 for the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Redlegs, Kansas City Athletics and Los Angeles Angels. He played for the Reds from 1944 - 1966, Redlegs from 1956 - 1960, Athletics in 1961 and Angels in 1962. Over 16 seasons, he started 287 games, won 135 games, struck out 1372 batters, and had a 3.90 ERA. Born on July 30, 1928 in Hamilton, OH, Nuxhall stood 6' 3" and weighed 195 lb. He attended Hamilton (Hamilton, OH) high school. His debut was on June 10, 1944 and he played his final game on October 2, 1966. Over his career, Nuxhall made $1,350.
