Joe Decker (full name: George Henry Decker; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1969 until 1979 for the Chicago Cubs, Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners. He played for the Cubs from 1969 - 1972, Twins from 1973 - 1976 and Mariners in 1979. Over 9 seasons, he started 105 games, won 36 games, struck out 458 batters, and had a 4.17 ERA. Born on June 16, 1947 in Storm Lake, IA, Decker stood 6' 0" and weighed 180 lb. He attended Petaluma (Petaluma, CA) high school and was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 9th round of the 1965 amateur draft. His debut was on September 18, 1969 and he played his final game on July 7, 1979. Over his career, Decker made $31,750. Common misspellings of his name include George George Henry (Jr.) Henry Joe jose joseph Decker.
