Joe Cronin (full name: Joseph Edward Cronin; no nicknames) played shortstop from 1931 until 1945 for the Washington Senators and Boston Red Sox. He played for the Senators from 1931 - 1934 and Red Sox from 1935 - 1945. Over 20 seasons, he played 2124 games, hit 170 home runs, drove in 1233 runs, and stole 87 bases.
