Jiri Slegr (full name: Jiri Slegr; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1993 until 2006 for the Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Atlanta Thrashers, Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins. He played for the Canucks from 1993 - 2004, Oilers from 1995 - 1996, Penguins from 1998 - 2001, Thrashers from 2001 - 2002, Red Wings in 2002 and Bruins from 2004 - 2006. Over 11 seasons, he played 622 games, scored 56 goals, and made 193 assists. Born in Jihlava, Czechoslovakia on May 30, 1971, Slegr stands 6-1 and weighs 210 lbs. He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2nd round (23rd overall) of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft.
