Jiri Novotny (full name: Jiri Novotny; no nicknames) played center from 2006 until 2009 for the Buffalo Sabres, Washington Capitals and Columbus Blue Jackets. He played for the Sabres from 2006 - 2007, Capitals in 2007 and Blue Jackets from 2008 - 2009. Over 4 seasons, he played 189 games, scored 20 goals, and made 31 assists. Born in Pelhrimov, Czechoslovakia on August 12, 1983, Novotny stands 6-3 and weighs 204 lbs. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1st round (22nd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
