About Jimmie DeShong:

Jimmie DeShong (full name: James Brooklyn DeShong; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1932 until 1939 for the Philadelphia Athletics, New York Yankees and Washington Senators. He played for the Athletics in 1932, Yankees from 1934 - 1935 and Senators from 1936 - 1939. Over 7 seasons, he started 100 games, won 47 games, struck out 273 batters, and had a 5.08 ERA. Born on November 30, 1909 in Harrisburg, PA (All Transactions), DeShong stood 5' 11" and weighed 165 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 12, 1932 and he played his final game on June 10, 1939. Common misspellings of his name include James Brooklyn Jimmie jimmy DeShong.
