He played for the Pirates from 1942 - 1947, Braves from 1948 - 1949 and Dodgers from 1950 - 1951. Over 10 seasons, he played 1035 games, hit 67 home runs, drove in 554 runs, and stole 59 bases. Born on October 1, 1918 in Fayette City, PA (All Transactions), Russell stood 6' 1" and weighed 181 lb. He attended high school.
