Jim McDonald (full name: Jimmie LeRoy McDonald; Hot Rod) played pitcher from 1950 until 1958 for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Browns, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox. He played for the Red Sox in 1950, Browns in 1951, Yankees from 1952 - 1954, Orioles in 1955 and White Sox from 1956 - 1958. Over 9 seasons, he started 55 games, won 24 games, struck out 158 batters, and had a 4.27 ERA. Born on May 17, 1927 in Grants Pass, OR, McDonald stands 5' 10" and weighs 185 lb. He attended Modesto (Modesto, CA) high school. His debut was on July 27, 1950 and he played his final game on April 26, 1958.
