Jim Konstanty (full name: Casimir James Konstanty; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1944 until 1956 for the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Reds in 1944, Braves in 1946, Phillies from 1948 - 1954, Yankees from 1954 - 1956 and Cardinals in 1956. Over 11 seasons, he started 36 games, won 66 games, struck out 268 batters, and had a 3.46 ERA. Born on March 2, 1917 in Strykersville, NY, Konstanty stood 6' 1" and weighed 202 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on June 18, 1944 and he played his final game on September 19, 1956. Common misspellings of his name include Casimir James Jim jimmie jimmy Konstanty.
