Jim Hegan (full name: James Edward Hegan; no nicknames) played catcher from 1941 until 1960 for the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies, San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs. He played for the Indians from 1941 - 1957, Tigers in 1958, Phillies from 1958 - 1959, Giants in 1959 and Cubs in 1960. Over 17 seasons, he played 1666 games, hit 92 home runs, drove in 550 runs, and stole 15 bases. Born on August 3, 1920 in Lynn, MA, Hegan stood 6' 2" and weighed 195 lb. He attended English (Lynn, MA) high school. His debut was on September 9, 1941 and he played his final game on July 4, 1960.
