Brown studied at Manhasset High School where he earned 13 letters playing football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, and track. He was first drafted by the Cleveland Browns on 1956. It was in 1957 when Brown had won the Rookie of the Year honors in 1957. He made 6.4 yards per carry for over 291 carries in 1963. He had declared his retirement on July 14, 1966 after the owner of the Cleveland Browns insisted that he must go on a training camp. In his playing career, Brown was able to accomplish 12,312 rushed yards, 126 blazing touchdowns, and 15,549 all-purpose yards. Brown is an excellent receiver out of the backfield where he was able to catch 22 passes for 2,499 yards and 20 powerful touchdowns. Whenever he plays a game, he is always voted into the Pro Bowl.
He started his acting career on 1964 where he appeared in the film “Rio Conchos.” It was on 1993 when he was hired as a color commentator for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971 and The Sporting News chosen him as the greatest football player of all time making the Jim Brown autographed DUKE throwback NFL leather football an important item to many of his fans.
