Jim Benning (full name: Jim Benning; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1982 until 1990 for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks. He played for the Leafs from 1982 - 1987 and Canucks from 1987 - 1990. Over 9 seasons, he played 605 games, scored 52 goals, and made 191 assists. Born in Edmonton, Alberta on April 29, 1963, Benning stands 6-0 and weighs 180 lbs. He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1st round (6th overall) of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft.
