Jim Barnes (full name: V. James Barnes; Jim, Bad News) played Center-Forward from 1965 until 1971 for the New York Knickerbockers, Baltimore Bullets, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics. Over 7 seasons, he played 454 games, scored 3997 points (8.8 ppg) and grabbed 2939 rebounds (6.5 rpg). Barnes also dished out 377 assists (0.8 apg), made steals (0.0 spg), and blocked shots (0.0 bpg) during his career. Born in Tuckerman, Arkansas on April 13, 1941, Barnes stood 6-8 and weighed 210 lbs. He attended high school at Stillwater in Stillwater, Oklahoma and college at University of Texas at El Paso. He was drafted by the New York Knickerbockers in the 1st round (1st pick, 1st overall) of the 1964 NBA draft.
