Born on April 21, 1957 in Santa Barbara, California, Jesse Orosco is a former relief pitcher in the Major League Baseball. He has played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, and the Minnesota Twins.
He had his major league debut on April 5, 1979 with the New York Mets. It was in 1980s when Orosco had his best seasons where he was able to accomplish his powerful 1.47 ERA leading the Jesse Orosco "Last Out" baseball as an acknowledgement. He was also able to bag 13 games and had save 17 with 110 innings pitched. It was the way for him to make his first All-Star team and he finished third during the voting for the National League Cy Young Award.
It was in 1986 when Orosco showed great performance and his clutch relief during the postseason was one of the reasons why the Mets became the world champions making the Jesse Orosco "Last Out" baseball a favorite piece to own. He was also tasked to mound for the final pitch in the final games of the 1986 National League Championship Series in a game against the Houston Astros and in the 1986 World Series where they played against the Boston Red Sox. When he was traded to the New York Yankees, he was able to accomplish a 2.32 ERA and also helped the team in his final season in 2003.
