A quarterback in the Canadian Football League, World Football League and the National Football League, is known to be a professional football player for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He spent his high school years in Green Bay West High School where he also graduated in 1968. During his collegiate days, he played college football in Nebraska under Bob Devaney. In his stay in Nebraska, he already showed how much he is good in playing football and able to ascend to second-string quarterback in his second year in college. He was able to play as a starting position during his junior year and led the team to the 1971 Orange Bowl against the LSU Tigers.  Tagge has been awarded the Orange Bowl Most Valuable Player in 1971. He has also led his team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers to two national titles.

 

He was first selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 1972 NFL Draft where head coach of the team, Dan Devine took notice of Jerry Tagge. He then left the National Football League when he was released by the Green Bay Packers.
