Jerry Rice is a former professional football player who was born on October 13, 1962. He had a stellar National Football League career and was regarded by many as one of the best wide receiver in the league.
Sources say he was able to develop the skills and the physical attributes for the sport while he worked for his father who is a mason. He was player in high school and was named to the All-State team in his senior year. After graduating from high school, he went to Mississippi Valley State University where he played as a top receiver. He has set NCAA records for his receptions and receiving yards and was included in Division All-American team for a number of times. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
He then began his professional career as a first round pick of the San Francisco 49ers. He also played for the Oakland Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks. Because of his incredible performances as a receiver, he was named to the Pro Bowl for thirteen times, the first being in 1986. He was included in All-Pro teams eleven times. In his twenty seasons in the National Football League, he made 197 touchdowns and logged 22, 895 receiving yards with 1, 549 receptions.
