Jayson Williams born on February 22, 1968 in Ritter, South Carolina was a former professional basketball player in the National Basketball League. He was a mixture of Polish, Italian and African-American descent. Jayson played high school basketball for the Christ The King RHS in New York City and College Basketball at St. John’s University.
He was selected as the 21st pick of the Phoenix Suns in the first round of 1990 NBA draft. After that his draft rights were traded by Phoenix to the Philadelphia 76ers for the 1993 NBA first-round pick choice on October 28, 1990. On October 8, 1992 the 76ers sent Jayson to the New Jersey Nets for conditional draft choices. The injured Jayson Williams was forced to retire from the NBA in 1999.
Together with the journalist Steve Friedman, Jayson wrote his biography in the year 2000 entitled: “Loose Balls: Easy Money, Hard Fouls, Cheap Laughs and True Love in the NBA.” He also founded the Jayson Williams Foundation and his philanthropy focused on Parkinson’s disease and AIDS.

Jayson Williams (full name: Jayson Williams; no nicknames) played Forward-Center from 1991 until 1999 for the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Nets. Over 9 seasons, he played 475 games, scored 3472 points (7.3 ppg) and grabbed 3584 rebounds (7.5 rpg). Williams also dished out 287 assists (0.6 apg), made 204 steals (0.4 spg), and blocked 301 shots (0.6 bpg) during his career. Born in Ritter, South Carolina on February 22, 1968, Williams stands 6-9 and weighs 240 lbs. He attended high school at Christ the King in Middle Village, New York and college at St. John's University.
