Jay Wells (full name: Jay Wells; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1980 until 1997 for the Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, Buffalo Sabres, New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues and Tampa Bay Lightning. He played for the Kings from 1980 - 1988, Flyers from 1989 - 1990, Sabres from 1990 - 1992, Rangers from 1992 - 1995, Blues in 1996 and Lightning in 1997. Over 18 seasons, he played 1098 games, scored 47 goals, and made 216 assists. Born in Paris, Ontario on May 18, 1959, Wells stands 6-1 and weighs 210 lbs. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1st round (16th overall) of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft.
