Jay Tessmer (full name: Jay Weldon Tessmer; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1998 until 2002 for the New York Yankees. He played for the Yankees from 1998 - 2002. Over 4 seasons, he played games, won 1 games, struck out 14 batters, and had a 7.71 ERA. Born on December 26, 1971 in Meadville, PA, Tessmer stands 6' 3" and weighs 190 lb. He attended Port St. Lucie (Port St. Lucie, FL) high school and was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 19th round of the 1995 amateur draft. His debut was on August 27, 1998 and he played his final game on April 4, 2002. Over his career, Tessmer made $380,000. Common misspellings of his name include Jay jason Jay jim joe Weldon Tessmer.
